FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How long should I leave the cling film or Saniderm on my tattoo?

• If you have cling film, leave it on for 3–4 hours unless the tattoo feels excessively hot or uncomfortable, in which case you can remove it sooner.

• If you have Saniderm (second skin), you can leave it on for up to 6 days. However, if it starts peeling, try to keep it on for at least 48 hours before removing it.

2. How should I wash my tattoo?

• Use lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free tattoo cleanser like Croc Aftercare Cleanser.

• Gently rub the cleanser over the tattooed area and let the water naturally rinse it off—avoid scrubbing.

3. My tattoo feels itchy. Can I scratch it?

• No! Itching is a normal part of the healing process, but scratching or picking at the tattoo can cause scarring, uneven healing, or even infection. Instead, lightly pat the area or apply a thin layer of moisturizer to help with the dryness.

4. What should I do if my tattoo starts peeling or scabbing?

• Peeling and light scabbing are completely normal. Do not pick at the flakes or scabs, as this can cause color loss or uneven healing. Continue to moisturize 3–4 times daily to keep the skin hydrated.

5. Can I go swimming or take long baths?

• No, you should avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, and baths for at least 2–3 weeks. Soaking the tattoo can cause ink loss and increase the risk of infection. Showers are fine, but avoid exposing the tattoo to direct water pressure for too long.

6. How often should I moisturize my tattoo?

• Apply a thin layer of moisturizer 3–4 times daily. Avoid using too much, as this can clog pores and delay healing.

7. My tattoo looks faded or discolored after removing the Saniderm. Is this normal?

• Yes, this is completely normal! Once you start regularly moisturizing, the colors will become more vibrant as the skin heals.

8. What kind of moisturizer should I use?

• Use a fragrance-free, alcohol-free tattoo moisturizer. Avoid petroleum-based products (such as Vaseline) as they can clog pores and slow healing.

9. How can I prevent my tattoo from fading?

• After healing, apply SPF 30+ sunscreen whenever your tattoo is exposed to the sun.

• Keep your tattoo moisturized regularly.

• Avoid excessive exfoliation in the tattooed area.

10. What should I do if my tattoo looks infected?

• Signs of infection include excessive redness, swelling, pain, warmth, or discharge (pus) from the tattoo. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

11. Can I work out after getting a tattoo?

• It’s best to avoid intense exercise for at least 3–5 days, especially if your tattoo is in a high-friction area. Sweating can introduce bacteria, and excessive movement can cause irritation.

12. When will my tattoo be fully healed?

• The outer layer of your tattoo typically heals within 2–3 weeks, but the deeper layers of skin may take up to 6 weeks. Continue moisturizing and protecting your tattoo even after the visible healing process is complete.
